The New Road Apparel Line

Giro, the cycling and snow sports accessory maker, has expanded its line for 2013 to include casual cycling apparel.  This new line is appropriately called #newroad.  I embedded the video below, but its pretty good stuff as they are the only company to really do this so far.  I mean, Levi’s kind of entered the market with this concept a little while back with their jeans with the U-lock holder.  It worked, they are nice and catered to more of [...]

Orp Smart Horn

Congratulations to Orp Smart Horn! {Smorn}

Big congratulations to Tory Orzeck, the creator of the Orp Smart Horn!  He recently surpassed his crowdfunding goal on kickstarter and the Orp is on its way to becoming a reality.  For those that don’t know, Orp is a sweet combination of a super loud horn and a bicycle light.  I have written about other projects on kickstarter, especially those involving lights or other devices to keep us cyclists safer on the road, but [...]

Head Shoulders Knees and Toes

I was pretty stoked to receive a comment on one of my posts on bike fitting this week.  In the comment I was asked about winter training; specifically some suggestions on what to wear out there in February.  So I thought it would be a good idea to post what kind of goods I keep in my duffle bag for winter training.  So as [...]

Zipp VukaSprint & Sl145 Upgrade

During a recent fit, we (the client and I) decided that a new stem and bar combination would be more beneficial.  He was originally riding a 42cm handlebar with an anatomical bend and a 100mm stem.  These were original Specialized components spec’d with the bike.  During the three plus hour fit session and spending a lot of time experimenting with different sized stem lengths, hood positions, and bar angles we found the right fit.  In a future post I would [...]

Recently I purchased yet another Apple product, the iPad mini.  I drank the kool-aid a long time ago but what can I say?  It just works.  Aside from chasing my own high score on Extreme Road Trip 2 or getting lost on twitter, I use it for some legitimate business purposes.  Since I am mobile and I come to you, my clients really like the fact that I accept credit cards on the spot using square (this is not a [...]

Road Runner Sports – North Brunswick NJ

How do I even begin to tell you about the last running store you are ever going to have to visit?  Seriously folks, I have visited the running sections of the big box and a number of other specialty running shops in New Jersey, but it all ends here. Wifey and I were in the area of the Shoppes at North Brunswick, she had some returns to make and I had some Chipotle to eat. Line is too long..  Salad [...]

Dude, watch where you are pointing that thing!

Ahh, the laser.  By far the coolest tool in the mobile fitting arsenal.  So, you book a fitting session at your home and this guy shows up (me) and starts unpacking his tools and gadgets.  We get started with the fitting interview and you offer me a cup of coffee. Thats really nice of you, I love coffee. While sipping your delicious coffee we get more in to the fitting and I begin asking about your goals as a cyclist [...]
